The Great Victory Day was celebrated with diverse programmes in Cox’s Bazar on December 16. As part of the district administration’s arrangements, a parade and display programme was held at Bir Sreshtho Ruhul Amin Stadium to mark the occasion.
To ensure overall security of the event, 150 members of the Bangladesh Army were deployed under the supervision of the 9 East Bengal Regiment of the 2 Infantry Brigade, 10 Infantry Division, based at Ramu Cantonment.
Army personnel were stationed at the stadium’s main gate and at all entry points. In addition, regular mobile patrols were conducted along the Gol Dighi area and surrounding localities to prevent any untoward incident, with troops remaining on constant alert throughout the programme.
Due to well-coordinated and adequate security measures under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army, the event was held peacefully and orderly, with no disruptions.
The programme began with recitations from holy scriptures, followed by the hoisting of the national flag and playing of the national anthem, and the release of pigeons and balloons.
A parade and various display performances were also held. One of the event’s key attractions was a vibrant, captivating band display by the 1 East Bengal Regiment, under the 2 Infantry Brigade of the 10 Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army, which drew particular attention from invited guests and spectators of all ages.
Prizes were later distributed among participating students.
