Taking advantage of the weekly Friday holiday and the pleasant winter weather of December, a large number of tourists have thronged Cox’s Bazar beach.

From morning to evening, visitors from different districts of the country have turned the world’s longest natural sea beach into a vibrant and festive destination.

Families, groups of friends, and newlywed couples were seen gathering at Laboni Point, Sugandha Point, Kolatoli, Shaibal Point, and Inani Beach to enjoy the mild winter sunshine, cool breeze, and calm sea waves.

Many tourists took part in activities such as sea bathing, walking along the sandy shore, horse riding, jet skiing, speed boating, and kayaking.

Some were busy capturing photographs by the beach, while others spent time admiring the beauty of the sunset.

The surge in tourist arrivals has led to an increase in room rates at hotels, motels, and resorts in Cox’s Bazar, with several establishments reporting a shortage of available rooms due to advance bookings.

Tourism-related business operators said that the influx of visitors in December has injected new momentum into the local economy, boosting activities in hotels, restaurants, transportation services, and various rental-based recreational sectors.

To ensure the safety of tourists, members of the Tourist Police, district police, and lifeguards were seen maintaining a heightened level of vigilance at different points along the beach.

Tourism stakeholders believe that if weather conditions remain favorable, this flow of tourists will continue throughout the winter season.

With its cool December climate and the joy of holiday travel, Cox’s Bazar continues to uphold its appeal as one of the country’s leading tourist destinations.
