Despite it being neither a weekend nor a public holiday, thousands of tourists are visiting Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach every day. The winter beach wears a calm and soothing look, with tranquil blue waters captivating visitors. Red-and-yellow flags have been hoisted along the shore, indicating that the sea is safe for swimming.
Due to the chilly weather, fewer people are entering the water early in the morning. However, as soon as the sun comes out, tourists begin to enjoy bathing in the salty waves.
Visitors are mainly swimming at Kolatoli, Laboni, and Sugandha points. For safety reasons, the Sea Safe Lifeguard authority has urged tourists to strictly follow several guidelines.
According to the lifeguards, designated bathing zones have been clearly marked at these three points where lifeguard services are available. These areas are demarcated with red-and-yellow flags or red flags. Bathing outside the marked zones can be dangerous, they warned.
Mohammad Osman Gani, Supervisor and Senior Lifeguard of Sea Safe Lifeguard, told Cox’s Bazar Life, “The sea is currently calm due to the winter season, which is why red-and-yellow flags have been hoisted. To avoid any danger, we strongly advise tourists to bathe only within the designated areas at these three points where lifeguard services are active.”
According to tidal information for Thursday, January 08, low tide occurred at 7:11 am, while high tide occurred at 1:19 pm.
Authorities have once again cautioned that ignoring warning signals or lifeguard instructions can lead to serious accidents at any time. Visitors are advised to remain alert and prioritize safety while enjoying the beach.
