Power supply will remain suspended for up to five hours in several areas of Cox’s Bazar city on Thursday (January 22) due to maintenance work, according to a press release issued by the Distribution Division of Power Development Board, Cox’s Bazar.
The division said that repair and maintenance work is being carried out on 33 kV and 11 kV power lines to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted, and quality electricity supply during the upcoming election, Ramadan, and the summer season.
The work also includes trimming the branches of trees adjacent to the power lines.
During the maintenance, the electricity supply under the 11 kV BSCIC feeder will remain suspended from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon in the areas of Bashundhara, RAB-15 office, Pahartali, BSCIC area, Patabuniachhara, Sadarpara, Kaimmarghona, Imam Muslim, South Muhuri Para, South Janarghona, Bangladesh Betar, Polytechnic, and Futkhali.
In addition, the power supply under the 11 kV Medical College feeder will be disrupted from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm in the areas of Cox’s Bazar Medical College, INMAS, and Cox’s Bazar Railway Station.
The Power Development and Distribution Division has expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to consumers.
The division also said that if the work cannot be completed due to adverse weather conditions or an emergency, it will be rescheduled.
