The inter-college sports competition 2026 was formally inaugurated at Cox’s Bazar Government College on Wednesday (January 21) amid a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere.

The opening ceremony was inaugurated by the college principal, Professor Abul Hasnat Md Mofizul Haque, who highlighted the importance of sports in fostering students’ physical and mental development. 

In his inaugural speech, he encouraged students to engage regularly in sporting activities alongside their academic pursuits.

The event saw spontaneous participation from teachers and students, adding vibrancy to the ceremony.

The programme was presided over by Ahmad Kabir, convener of the Inter-college Sports Competition 2026. College vice-principal Professor Md Wahidul Islam attended as a special guest. 

Also present were the teachers’ council secretary Muhammad Ullah, heads of various departments, faculty members, and a large number of students.

The organisers said the competition’s concluding day and the prize-giving ceremony will be held on Thursday (January 22). Several scheduled events and final rounds of competitions will take place on the final day.

They urged students to participate enthusiastically in the events and to attend the programme to encourage the competitors and make the sports meet a success.
