A significant press briefing was held in Cox’s Bazar on 11 February ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum–2026, with the district administration and law enforcement agencies assuring full preparedness to ensure a free, fair, neutral, and peaceful vote.
The briefing, organised by the Cox’s Bazar District Administration, took place at the district administration conference room. Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Md. A. Mannan attended as the chief guest, while Superintendent of Police A.N.M. Sajedur Rahman was present as a special guest. Senior district officials and representatives from APBn, RAB, the Army, and other law enforcement agencies were also in attendance.
At the briefing, authorities outlined the comprehensive preparations and security measures in place for the upcoming election and referendum. The deputy commissioner and returning officer said that every stage of the electoral process — including polling centre management, distribution of election materials, assignment of officials, and overall administrative activities — was being carried out under a well-structured and coordinated plan.
Superintendent of Police A.N.M. Sajedur Rahman said the district police would remain on the highest level of alert to maintain law and order during the election period. Intelligence surveillance has been strengthened, and special security measures have been taken at vulnerable polling centres. Additionally, they have kept mobile and striking forces ready to respond instantly to any untoward situation.
He further stated that Cox’s Bazar district police would discharge their duties with professionalism and neutrality to ensure that every voter can exercise their franchise in a safe and uninterrupted environment.
Through the press briefing, the district administration and law enforcement agencies urged the residents of Cox’s Bazar to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and actively participate in the voting process.
