The Election Commission (EC) on Friday night published the official gazette notification of the newly elected members of parliament from the 13th National Parliament Election. The gazette of the referendum results was also issued simultaneously.
According to the EC, the gazette was published for 297 out of the 300 parliamentary constituencies. The notification was signed by Akhtar Ahmed, secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat.
The gazette states that, in accordance with Clause (4) of Article 39 of the Representation of the People Order, 1972 (Presidential Order No. 155 of 1972), the names, fathers’ or husbands’ names, mothers’ names and addresses of the elected candidates have been officially published.
The EC had earlier announced unofficial results following voting in the 13th parliamentary election and the referendum on Thursday. The final list of winners from across the country was completed on Friday afternoon.
Voter turnout in the election stood at 59.44%.
