A new restaurant, Jhinuk Restaurant, has officially opened in the tourist city of Cox’s Bazar, drawing attention for its unique concept and diverse menu.

Lutfur Rahman Kajol, member of parliament from Cox’s Bazar-3 constituency, inaugurated the restaurant on Tuesday (March 17). Among others present were chairman Mohammad Abu Sufian Jasim and managing director Mohammad Akkas Uddin, along with other directors.

Speaking at the event, Kajol said that a new restaurant creates employment opportunities for many local people and expressed hope that Jhinuk would contribute to both job creation and the development of the local tourism industry.

Located at the Kolatoli intersection, the restaurant’s key attraction is its open-kitchen concept, allowing guests to watch the entire cooking process.

This approach is expected to ensure transparency and build customer trust. The food is prepared under the supervision of an internationally trained chef, adding to its quality and taste.

The menu mainly features traditional Bangla cuisine, with particular emphasis on dishes such as Ilish Paturi and Coral Fish Paturi, along with a variety of fresh seafood that reflects Cox’s Bazar’s coastal identity.

Another notable initiative is the inclusion of Mezbani meals twice a week, a traditional dish from Chattogram, typically served on special occasions. By incorporating it into a regular arrangement, the restaurant aims to promote local culture to a broader audience.

The breakfast menu also offers a range of items, including dishes featuring marrow bones and mutton trotters, among other options. Regular lunch and dinner services are also available, providing a full-day dining experience.

From its opening day, the restaurant has generated interest among local residents. With its new flavours, clean environment, and distinctive presentation, stakeholders believe that Jhinuk could quickly become popular among tourists as well.
