Across Cox’s Bazar, people celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of Muslims, with immense enthusiasm and solemnity.
From early morning, thousands of worshippers gathered at Eidgah grounds and mosques across the district to offer prayers.
The main congregation was held at 8:00 am at the Central Eidgah ground, where the prayer was led by Maulana Mahmudul Haque, preacher of the Central Jame Mosque. A second congregation was held at the same venue at 9:00 am, led by Maulana Solaiman Qasemi, preacher of the Central Eidgah Jame Mosque.
The main congregation was attended by local lawmaker Lutfur Rahman Kajal, deputy commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mannan, and superintendent of police ANM Sajedur Rahman, along with around 20,000 worshippers. Special prayers were offered seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for the nation.
Eid congregations were also held at various mosques across the town, including Badr Mokam Mosque, Baitush Sharaf Jame Mosque, and Borobazar Jame Mosque, all at 8:00 am, drawing large crowds.
After the prayers, worshippers exchanged greetings and embraced one another, marking the occasion with joy and prayers for peace and well-being.
