Cox’s Bazar celebrated Independence and National Day 2026 with due dignity and enthusiasm, marked by a vibrant programme featuring a parade and cultural display.

The main event, organised by the district administration, was held at 9:00 am on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin Stadium. The programme included the hoisting of the national flag, rendition of the national anthem, a gathering of educational institutions, a parade, and a colourful display.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad A. Mannan attended the event as the chief guest. Among others present were Superintendent of Police ANM Sazedur Rahman, officials from various government and private organisations, freedom fighters, teachers, students, and members of the public.

The programme began with the release of balloons and white doves to formally inaugurate the day’s celebrations. The chief guest then hoisted the national flag, while attendees stood in respect during the national anthem.

A well-organised parade followed, with participation from educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, and volunteer organisations. The disciplined march, salutes, and patriotic performances captivated the audience.

A colourful display was also presented, where students showcased the country’s history, the spirit of the Liberation War, and cultural heritage through creative performances. The displays featured patriotic songs, physical exercises, and artistic presentations, adding a vibrant dimension to the programme.

At one stage, the chief guest and other dignitaries inspected the parade and display units and observed their performances.

Awards were later distributed among the best-performing teams in the parade and display segments.

The celebrations concluded in a festive atmosphere filled with patriotic spirit, marking the end of the Independence and National Day programmes in Cox’s Bazar.
