Helal Hossain, who secured third place in the junior category at the 8th National Surfing Championship held in Cox’s Bazar, was accorded a reception on Wednesday (April 8, 2026).
The ceremony took place at the conference room of Shah Jabbariya Hotel in Sonar Para, with the initiative taken by local sports organiser Mohammad Hossain. Sports enthusiasts, youth athletes, and local dignitaries were present at the event.
Speakers said that Helal Hossain’s achievement is a matter of pride for Cox’s Bazar’s surfing community. They encouraged more young people to take inspiration from his success and come forward in the sport.
Organiser Mohammad Hossain said such receptions play an important role in motivating the younger generation to engage in sports. He also urged youths from the coastal belt along the Bay of Bengal to follow Helal’s path.
Expressing gratitude, Helal Hossain said he hopes to achieve more for the country in the future.
