Intense heat has disrupted daily life in Cox’s Bazar, with sweltering conditions prevailing across the town for most of the day. However, some relief comes in the evening as a gentle sea breeze begins to blow.
On Wednesday afternoon, a visit to the Cox’s Bazar sea beach showed that crowds of tourists and local visitors began to increase as the day progressed. Many people came to the beach with their families to escape the heat, while others braved the midday temperature and entered the sea in comfortable clothing to cool off.
Tourist Rashed Mahmud from Dhaka said, “The heat during the day is truly unbearable. But after the afternoon, coming to the beach brings a lot of relief. The sea breeze helps ease the fatigue.”
Local resident Zahidul Islam said, “We come to the beach every evening to enjoy some fresh air. After a hot day, sitting here feels very relaxing.”
Assistant meteorologist Abdul Hannan of the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office said that the highest temperature recorded in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday was 34.5 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels around 60 percent. He noted that temperatures begin to drop slightly in the evening, allowing people to feel some comfort.
Amid the intense heat, the gentle breeze along the Cox’s Bazar sea beach has become a key source of relief for both locals and tourists.
