Eleven women from Cox’s Bazar have been honoured with the “Odommo Nari” (Indomitable Women) award in recognition of their contributions in their respective fields.

The awards were conferred by the Deputy Director’s Office of the Department of Women Affairs in Cox’s Bazar.

This year, the recipients were selected from four upazilas—Teknaf, Ramu, Eidgaon and Cox’s Bazar Sadar—across multiple categories.

From Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Afrin Sultana Sumi was recognised as a successful entrepreneur, Radhu Barua Chowdhury for excellence in education, Rahela Akter as a successful mother, Humayra Begum for contributions to social development, and Amena Begum for rebuilding her life with resilience.

In Ramu, Rezia Akter was honoured for achievements in education, while Anjana Barua received recognition as a successful entrepreneur.

In Eidgaon, Khurshidul Jannat was awarded for educational achievements, and Parveen Akter as a successful entrepreneur.

At Teknaf, Rubina Akter was recognised for her contributions to social development, while Nibedita Bhattacharjee received the award for excellence in education.
