Seasonal fruit markets featuring hill-grown ripe mangoes are drawing tourists along the scenic Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive in Cox’s Bazar.

Small roadside stalls have sprung up along the route, where local vendors display a variety of fresh, locally sourced mangoes. The vibrant display is catching the attention of passing travelers, many of whom are stopping to buy fruit directly from the roadside.

Tourists, in particular, are showing strong interest in these hill mangoes for their distinct taste and freshness, which adds a unique element to their travel experience.

Vendor Rahim Ullah said that compared to general customers, tourists account for most of the sales. The higher demand allows sellers to charge slightly better prices, encouraging them to set up stalls along the busy Marine Drive.

Local resident Ramzan Ali noted that locally grown mangoes do not attract much demand among local buyers, but tourists are eager to purchase them. As a result, vendors collect mangoes from nearby hills and sell them along the roadside.

This seasonal fruit market is not only creating additional income opportunities for local residents but also enriching visitors’ overall travel experience with fresh, flavourful produce.
