Parvez Siddique from Chakaria in Cox’s Bazar has participated in the “International Migration Review Forum (IMRF)-2026” held at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.
The high-level international conference, held from May 5 to May 8, is scheduled to conclude today. Policymakers, human rights activists, development professionals, and migration experts from different countries took part in the event.
Parvez Siddique spoke on May 5 at an important side session titled “Compassion Across Borders: Faith Responses to Migration in a Changing World.”
In his speech, he highlighted the global migration crisis in a changing world, humanitarian and faith-based perspectives, and the need to ensure safe, orderly, and regular migration.
The main objective of the forum is to review progress in implementing the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration and strengthen international cooperation to make migration management more effective and humane.
A delegation led by Bangladesh’s expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment minister is also participating in the event.
Parvez Siddique has long been working nationally and internationally on peace, human rights, migration, and social development issues. He is currently serving as executive director of Filsm4Peace Foundation.
