Tourists have called for the development of environmentally friendly tourism and modern water sports facilities to further enhance Cox’s Bazar’s appeal as an international travel destination.

Cox’s Bazar, home to the world’s longest natural sea beach, needs stronger promotion and improved infrastructure to establish itself firmly on the global tourism map, said tourist Tashnia Zaman.

She made the remarks while visiting Cox’s Bazar with her family for a three-day holiday from Dhaka.

She questioned, “How will foreign tourists know that Bangladesh has the world’s longest sea beach unless we properly showcase Cox’s Bazar to the world?”

She emphasised the need to develop environmentally sustainable tourism to preserve Cox’s Bazar’s natural beauty. At the same time, expansion of various sea-based water sports could significantly increase interest among both domestic and international tourists.

During her stay, she and her family spent the first day enjoying sea bathing and watching the sunset, then shopping and spending time at the beachside before returning to the hotel.

The second day was spent visiting the Marine Drive and Teknaf, where she said she was deeply impressed by the combination of hills, sea, and natural scenery.

According to her, Cox’s Bazar is not just about the sea, but a vast natural landscape capable of captivating visitors from around the world.

On the third day, before returning to Dhaka at night, they visited the beach in the morning and enjoyed water sports, including parasailing.

She described parasailing as a thrilling experience, saying, “I had long wanted to experience the sea in a different way. It was unforgettable. Tourists visiting Cox’s Bazar should further expand such water sports.

Tourists believe that with proper planning and environmentally responsible initiatives, Cox’s Bazar can be easily transformed into a world-class tourist city.
