The three-day annual sports competition of Cox’s Bazar International University began on Wednesday with a colourful opening ceremony at Birshreshtha Md. Ruhul Amin Stadium.
The event created a vibrant atmosphere, with the participation of students, athletes, and distinguished guests.
Professor Kazi Mostain Billah, dean of the university, attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest.
Among the special guests were Bangladesh Cricket Board councillor Principal Md Jasim Uddin, district sports officer Md Alauddin, Bangladesh Sports Press Association Cox’s Bazar district president MR Mahbub and restaurant owners’ association general secretary and sports organiser Javed Iqbal Chowdhury.
Athletes, educators, and social figures also attended the program and encouraged participants.
Organisers said the competition was arranged, like previous years, to highlight the importance of sports in the physical and mental development of students.
The annual sports competition will hold its prize-giving ceremony at 4:00pm on May 22.
