A temporary sacrificial cattle market has opened at the Sonar Para sea beach area in Cox’s Bazar ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, witnessing vibrant trading activity from the very first day.

From morning until evening, farmers and cattle traders from various areas arrived at the market with local-breed cattle, buffaloes, and other sacrificial animals.

A visit to the market showed rows of sellers displaying cattle and buffalo of different sizes. Buyers appeared particularly interested in local-breed cattle, while crowds gathered to inspect the animals’ quality and prices.

Beyond trading activities, the temporary cattle market near the seaside also created a festive atmosphere. The area became lively with children, colourful cattle and buffaloes, and large gatherings of visitors.

Families flocked to the market, admiring the animals and capturing photographs.

Farmer Abdul Haque said traders had brought livestock from different regions in hopes of favourable prices this season.

“We are satisfied with the turnout of buyers so far,” he said.

According to local residents, like previous years, the Sonar Para cattle market has once again created a distinct festive mood in the area ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
