Vehicle repair and body-building workshops in the bus terminal area of Cox’s Bazar are witnessing a busy spell, with mechanics and technicians working from morning until evening to meet growing demand.
From building new vehicle frames to repairing buses and trucks damaged in road accidents, workers are engaged in a wide range of jobs at workshops lining the roadside.
A visit to Habib Munshi Workshop on Bus Terminal Road found every corner of the workshop buzzing with activity.
Some workers were stripping old paint from vehicle bodies, others were applying primer, while several were busy welding and assembling new frames.
The constant sound of hammers and welding equipment filled the workshop.
Habib Munshi, who has been in the business for about 25 years, said the workload had increased significantly recently.
“We are receiving more orders for both new vehicle body construction and repairs of accident-damaged vehicles. The volume of work is higher than usual, keeping our workers busy throughout the day,” he said.
Workers at the workshop said new jobs arrive almost every day, requiring them to put in extra hours to complete projects on schedule while maintaining quality.
Locals said the workshops, which have operated in the bus terminal area for decades, provide essential vehicle repair services and create employment opportunities for many skilled technicians, contributing to the local economy.
