Fishermen in North Sonar Para’s Jhaubon village begin preparing in the late afternoon to head out to sea for fishing at night. Rows of fishing trawlers and boats of different sizes are lined up along the beach as the fishermen ready their vessels and equipment. A recent visit to the fishermen’s settlement found some fishermen heading towards the sea as daylight faded, while others were preparing for longer trips into deeper waters. With fishing activities in full swing, coastal fishermen are spending busy days catching and selling fish, keeping their boats and nets ready for the next trip.
