Cox’s Bazar itself is a brand. The name Cox’s Bazar is a brand, popular actress Prarthana Fardin Dighi said, praising the coastal town’s beauty and tourism potential.
Dighi recently visited Cox’s Bazar for a four-day, three-night stay at Best Western Plus Bay Hills, a four-star hotel in Himchhari surrounded by hills and the sea.
Speaking to journalists during her stay, Dighi said she believed Cox’s Bazar needed little additional branding as the name itself had already become a strong brand.
“Cox’s Bazar itself is a brand. The name Cox’s Bazar is a brand. Even when we travel to different countries, we mention the name Cox’s Bazar. That is itself a brand. I do not think anything more is needed for branding,” she said.
She said Cox’s Bazar was continuously developing and offering new experiences to tourists.
“Cox’s Bazar is surpassing itself day by day. Many new spots are emerging. There is still a lot of scope to develop the area further,” she said.
Dighi also spoke about her love for the sea and local food, particularly dried fish.
“I love the sea. Whenever I come to Cox’s Bazar, I take dried fish with me. I also ask people I know who visit Cox’s Bazar to bring dried fish. I have already received orders for three or four packets. I will have to take them with me when I leave,” she said.
Her connection with Cox’s Bazar, however, dates back many years. She has visited the town numerous times for shooting assignments since she began acting as a child.
“When I was working as a child actor, I think I came to Cox’s Bazar around 12 to 14 times for shooting. There was almost one shooting assignment here every month. Sometimes I had to come more than once in a month,” she said.
Dighi also recalled her family memories associated with Cox’s Bazar.
“Cox’s Bazar is one of my favourite places. I have many memories here with my mother and family. I have also visited once or twice in recent years for different work and short shooting assignments. So I have a special attachment to Cox’s Bazar,” she said.
With its combination of hills, sea, natural beauty and diverse tourism attractions, Cox’s Bazar continues to attract tourists and create new experiences. At the same time, Dighi’s comments once again highlighted the coastal town’s strong appeal as a tourism destination.
