Cox’s Bazar Spotlight – In Focus: ‘Abdur Rahim Pushpa Bitan’
Located beside the Shaheed Minar on Shaheed Sarani Road in Cox’s Bazar town, ‘Abdur Rahim Pushpa Bitan’ has become a familiar address for flower lovers, with a colourful display of flowers arranged at the shop every day.
The small flower shop attracts pedestrians, residents, and people attending different events in the area with its variety of fresh flowers and colourful arrangements.
The shop sells roses, tuberose, marigolds, gerberas, gladiolus, lilies, chrysanthemums and various other local and imported flowers. It also prepares bouquets and floral arrangements for different occasions.
Owner Abdur Rahim said flowers at the shop are available from Tk 10 to Tk 100, depending on the type. The shop also prepares VIP bouquets on order, with prices ranging from Tk 100 to around Tk 1,500.
According to Rahim, the shop’s location beside the Shaheed Minar and along Shaheed Sarani Road brings regular demand, particularly during weddings, social and cultural events and other programmes.
“We prepare bouquets according to customers’ requirements and also decorate wedding cars with flowers,” he said.
Customers can order bouquets based on their preferred flowers, size and budget. From a single flower or a small bouquet for a simple gift to larger arrangements for weddings and other formal occasions, the shop provides different options.
The shop also catches the attention of people passing by on the busy road with its colourful display of flowers arranged along the roadside. The variety of flowers and arrangements gives the area a lively look and makes the shop easy to spot from the street.
