Cox’s Bazar beach was crowded with tourists on Friday as people from different parts of the country arrived to enjoy the weekly holiday, with normal weather and no rain reported in the area.
The beach began drawing tourists from the morning, with Laboni, Sugandha and Kolatoli points seeing a steady flow of people. Many arrived with family members, while others came with friends and spent time enjoying the sea and waves.
The day remained hot and sunny, with clouds also appearing in the sky. Despite the intense heat, many tourists bathed in the sea and walked along the beach.
Ahsan, who came to Cox’s Bazar from Dhaka with his family, said he was enjoying the trip as the weather remained favourable.
“We are enjoying the sea despite the strong sunshine,” he said.
Another tourist, Nabila, said she was enjoying the beach environment and the waves.
“The sea and the blue water are beautiful. Although the sun is intense, we are having a good time in Cox’s Bazar,” she said.
Lifeguard Rashid Ahmed, on duty at the beach, said the sea was calm, with no major waves.
“We remain alert around the clock for the safety of tourists and keep a close watch on those entering the sea for bathing,” he said.
