Veteran journalist and bdnews24 editor-in-chief Toufique Imrose Khalidi passed away on Friday at the age of 59.
He was admitted to a hospital in London on Thursday night after suffering a brain haemorrhage, said a bdnews24 report.
Doctors pronounced him dead at 2:23pm local time on Friday, around 7:00pm Bangladesh time, the report added.
In a statement, Information and Broadcasting State Minister Yaser Khan Chowdhury expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Toufique Imrose Khalidi.
In a condolence message, the state minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deep sympathy to Khalidi’s bereaved family members, colleagues and well-wishers.
