Farmers across the coastal region are busy bringing home the Aman rice harvest. After cutting the ripe paddy from their fields, some are threshing the crop while others spread the freshly harvested grain in their courtyards to dry under the sun. From harvesting and threshing to drying the grain, rural households are now occupied with the seasonal work of gathering the year’s produce. After months of hard work, farmers hope for a good yield and fair prices as they bring their harvest home, with expectations of better days ahead.
