A depression has formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjoining north Andaman Sea, which may intensify further. The likelihood of this depression evolving into a cyclone is high. If it does, the cyclone will be named “Dana.”

Abdul Hannan, assistant meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office, confirmed the matter.

However, the Meteorological Department reports that the seaports in Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Payra, and Mongla have not received any warning signals.
