As winter approaches, the demand for pithas (traditional rice cakes) rises significantly in Bangladesh, especially in rural areas where various kinds of pithas are made.
Lala Bibi has set up her stall selling traditional pithas on the city streets. She starts with puli pitha and sweet rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves, which have quickly garnered interest among both tourists and locals.
After enjoying some of Lala Bibi’s delicious pithas, we spoke with her. She expressed her desire to introduce these delightful rural delicacies to more visitors. Lala Bibi plans to create a variety of other pithas that will showcase the richness of traditional Bangladeshi cuisine.
