With the slogan, ‘Students, teachers, and farmers unite—let’s work together to control rats’, the national rat control campaign for 2024 has kicked off across the country and will continue through November.

The District Agricultural Extension Office, Cox’s Bazar Khamarbari, and the Cox’s Bazar Upazila Agriculture Office organized an inaugural event this morning at the District Agricultural Training Center of Cox’s Bazar as part of the campaign.

Dr FM Mahbubur Rahman, director of the Planning, Project Implementation, and ICT Wing of Dhaka Khamarbari, officially launched the campaign.

He said that rats destroy millions of tons of crops each year.

“Alongside protecting fields and farms, it’s crucial to address rat control in our homes as well. As Cox’s Bazar is a major tourist destination, keeping our restaurants and hotels free from pests is essential for maintaining high standards like those in developed countries,” he added.
