Cyclone Fengal Triggers Cautionary Signal No. 2 at Four Seaports

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued Cautionary Signal No. 2 for the four seaports: Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Mongla, and Payra, due to the impact of Cyclone Fengal over the Bay of Bengal.

However, the cyclone is unlikely to make landfall in Bangladesh. It is expected to strike the Tamil Nadu coast in India later today.

The Meteorological Department released its 10th special weather bulletin on Saturday, November 30, revealing this information.

According to the bulletin, Cyclone Finzal, located over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, is currently moving northwest. The cyclone’s position at 6:00 AM today was 1,650 km southwest of Chattogram Port, 1,605 km southwest of Cox’s Bazar Port, 1,505 km southwest of Mongla Port, and 1,515 km southwest of Payra Port.

They expect that the cyclone will continue its west-northwest movement and make landfall along the northern Tamil Nadu coast by this afternoon.
