With the theme “Youth United Against Corruption: Shaping a Pure Future,” Cox’s Bazar observed International Anti-Corruption Day with flag hoisting, a human chain, and a discussion meeting organized jointly by the district administration and the local Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) office.

The program started Monday morning at Shahid Daulat Ground of the Public Library with the hoisting of the national and ACC flags and the release of balloons to mark the formal inauguration.

After the human chain, a discussion titled “What Needs to Be Done to Prevent and Combat Corruption” was held at the Shahid ATM Jafar Alam Conference Hall of the District Administration office.

District Commissioner Mohammad Salah Uddin, the chief guest, emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. He remarked: “Corruption hinders development. We must unite, hand in hand, like friends, to overcome this difficult path.”

ACC Deputy Director Subel Ahmed presided over the event, noting: “It’s not enough to have laws or punish corrupt individuals. We must raise collective awareness, starting from our families.”

Government officials, representatives of civil society, student representatives, and teachers also attended and spoke at the event, emphasizing society’s collective responsibility in combating corruption.
