The arrival of export-goods laden covered vans at container depots in Chattogram Port has hindered due to the flooding of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
According to reports, the arrival of covered vans at 19 private depots in the port has decreased by 35% within a day.
Businesses said that some parts of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway from Feni and Comilla have been flooded and traffic has been severely disrupted which decreased the transportations of goods.
According to the Private Container Depot Association, 3,188 vehicles carrying export goods arrived at 19 depots on Wednesday and 2,060 cargo vehicles arrived there on Friday.
Private depots manage 90% of the goods exported through Chattogram port.
