Mermaid Beach Resort on Pechar Dwip along Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive hosted a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration in a dazzling display of festivity.

A beautifully designed stage, set beside the resort’s 300-foot swimming pool and the open sandy dunes, became the hub of excitement for local and international guests.

Artistic sculptures of boats and crabs floated in the nearby sea while the entire resort glittered with vibrant lighting. Fireworks and lanterns illuminated the night sky, and tourists danced to lively DJ tunes.

Renowned musical artists from Bangladesh and abroad graced the event, captivating the audience with soulful performances. The resort’s New Year’s Eve tradition continued to draw crowds, with this year being no exception.

Cox’s Bazar, already teeming with tourists eager to witness the final sunset of the year, saw a massive influx of visitors, especially around Mermaid Beach Resort, which has long been a favorite among international travelers.

The grand celebration included a boat and fire show, which became the night’s highlight.

The resort’s management, known for their commitment to promoting eco-tourism, ensured that even visitors not staying there could partake in the festivities, adding a unique charm to the celebrations.

Rexy Dominic Gomez, Senior Manager (Marketing and Sales) of Mermaid Eco-Tourism Limited, remarked, “Cox’s Bazar sees an influx of domestic and international tourists, but beyond the beach, entertainment options are limited. Through events like these, we aim to provide the desired recreation and enhance the tourism experience. We are committed to maintaining this tradition.”
