The Cox’s Bazar District Badminton Association Tournament wrapped up with much excitement. The highly anticipated finals of four categories took place on Friday, January 3, at the Cox’s Bazar Municipal Indoor Stadium.

In fiercely competitive matches, Mohin emerged as the singles champion, BUCB Academy triumphed in the under-20 category, Jamshed-Azim claimed victory in the over-50 category, and FA Bricks secured the championship in the open category.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Romen Sharma graced the award ceremony, highlighting the importance of sports in youth development. “Sports keep young people away from drugs, promote physical and mental well-being, and foster discipline. A true athlete never strays from the right path. Sports are vital for nurturing hidden talents,” he said.

The event was presided over by Azad Hasan Azad, Convener of the tournament organizing committee.

Gias Uddin, Acting President of the District Badminton Association, and Ashraful Huda Siddique Jamshed, General Secretary, and former councilor, were also present, along with sports personalities, journalists, advocates, and other professionals.
