Cox’s Bazar, typically bustling with tourists during extended public holidays or weekends, now sees a steady influx of visitors even on weekdays. This shift indicates a growing trend of weekday tourism in the seaside town.

On Thursday, January 16, the iconic spots of Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni along the Cox’s Bazar beach were teeming with tourists.

By mid-morning, the serene shoreline was alive with the joyful activities of thousands of visitors. Many enjoyed a refreshing sea dip, while others played with inflatable tubes. Horse riding, jet skiing, and beach biking across the sandy stretches added to the vibrant atmosphere. The thriving activities highlighted the booming local tourism industry.

Various teams were actively deployed to ensure the safety of visitors, including the district administration’s tourism cell, the Tourist Police of Cox’s Bazar Region, district police, lifeguards, beach workers, and intelligence personnel.

With the weekend approaching on Friday and Saturday, the number of tourists is expected to rise significantly.  Stakeholders have called for heightened security measures to accommodate the growing crowd.
