Once a bustling hub for locally crafted shell and conch ornaments, the “Old Zinuk Market” of Cox’s Bazar, located in the historic Jhautala area, has lost its former glory. The market would come alive from the afternoon and continue late into the night, with vibrant stalls offering a wide range of shell-based products. However, with the establishment of a new Shell Market along the coastline, the old market has seen a sharp decline in footfall, and it is now a shadow of its former self. The once-popular destination for tourists and shoppers has fallen into obscurity, with very few visitors now wandering through its stalls. The “Old Znuk Market” photos were taken from the Holiday Mor.
