Inani Beach, a serene coastal stretch along the Teknaf-Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive, is renowned for its rocky shoreline and tranquil sands, making it a favored retreat for tourists. A popular attraction here is enjoying fresh coconuts under the open sky.

However, piles of discarded coconut shells scattered along Marine Drive mar the beauty of this idyllic spot. The waste tarnishes Inani’s natural beauty and harms its environment.

Tourists have expressed dissatisfaction with the unsightly piles, calling it a poor reflection of Cox’s Bazar as a premier tourist destination. “Effective waste management could make this place much more appealing,” said a frustrated visitor.

In response, Belal Uddin, a beach worker responsible for Inani under the Cox’s Bazar District Administration, stated, “Coconut vendors have been instructed to use dustbins and dispose of the shells properly by taking them home. If they fail to comply, we will inform the tourism magistrate, and appropriate action will be taken.”

Adherence to waste management guidelines is not strictly enforced, threatening Inani’s reputation as a natural paradise and underscoring the urgent need for stricter enforcement.
