The five-day Jute Goods Fair, organized by the Department of Jute and JDPC (Jute Diversification Promotion Centre), concluded at Laboni Point, Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach. On the final day, the fair saw a surge of visitors, extending beyond its scheduled closing time of 8 PM and wrapping up around 10 PM instead.

The fair, inaugurated on February 4 by Sheikh Bashir Uddin, advisor to the Ministry of Commerce and Textiles & Jute, featured 33 stalls showcasing various jute-based products.

Despite the diverse display of jute goods, entrepreneurs reported low sales due to a lack of strong visitor interest. Abdul Hannan, Personal Officer at JDPC, stated that an estimated Tk 8 lakh worth of products were sold over the five days.
