With rapid deforestation and urbanization, many medicinal plants and fruits are disappearing, and one such valuable fruit is Dumur (fig).

Dumur is a soft, naturally sweet fruit with a thin outer layer and numerous tiny seeds. It can be consumed both dried and ripe. While commonly found in rural areas, Dumur trees grow naturally without human intervention. There are two main types: Gol Dumur and Yagna Dumur.

Health Benefits of Dumur

The extract from Dumur tree roots is beneficial for diabetic patients. It also helps relieve constipation, and nutritionists often recommend drinking Dumur-soaked water on an empty stomach. Moreover, it is effective in treating bile-related disorders and dysentery.
