Sonadia Island, located in Kutubjom Union of Moheshkhali Upazila, Cox’s Bazar, is a paradise for nature lovers. Known as the “Island of Biodiversity,” it offers stunning coastal views and rich marine life.

To reach Sonadia, travellers must arrive at Cox’s Bazar via bus, train, or other transport. From there, they must take a speedboat or engineboat from Kasturi Ghat to Moheshkhali, which costs Tk90 per person and takes around 12–15 minutes. An alternative is a wooden boat, which costs Tk40 but takes 45–50 minutes.

From Moheshkhali, visitors must take a rickshaw (Tk20) to Gorokghata Bazaar, then a CNG (Tk150-Tk170) to Ghotibhanga, 24 km away. From Ghotibhanga, they can take an engine boat (Tk25) to Sonadia’s western side, the best area for camping and sightseeing.

A direct speedboat from Cox’s Bazar to Sonadia is more expensive for those seeking adventure. However, this route bypasses the scenic mangrove channels. Travelers are advised to inform boat operators in advance to be dropped at the western side, which offers better accommodation and picturesque spots.
