Hard work and determination have led young entrepreneur S.M. Suman from Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar, to remarkable success in broiler poultry farming. A madrasa student by background, Suman has become self-sufficient through his poultry business, inspiring many young people in his community.

In 2019, Suman started his farm with only 100 broiler chickens on a small scale. Encouraged by his initial profits, he gradually expanded his business. Today, his farm raises over 5,000 chickens per cycle, generating a monthly revenue of approximately Tk300,000 and a net profit of Tk70,000–Tk80,000  after expenses.

Secrets Behind His Success

According to Suman, the key to his success is proper farm management, modern technology, and regular maintenance. He carefully studies poultry nutrition, medication, and environmental factors to ensure optimal growth.

His farm supplies chickens to wholesale markets in Cox’s Bazar and Chattogram, as well as the local market. He plans to expand further by adding two more farm sheds.

Inspiring Other Youth

Seeing Suman’s success, many young people in the area are seeking his advice and considering starting their poultry farms. He shares,

“With the right planning and dedication, poultry farming can be a profitable business. I hope more young people in our community become self-reliant.”

Residents appreciate his efforts, believing that the regional poultry industry could grow even further with more government support.
