As winter fades, the rising temperatures are making life uncomfortable. The scorching sun leaves people drenched in sweat and parched with thirst when they step outside. In search of relief, passersby eagerly turn to chilled sharbat to quench their thirst.
Mobile vendors around Cox’s Bazar beach and along the city’s sidewalks sell refreshing drinks from their carts. Among the popular choices are lemon, basil seeds, psyllium husk, and wood apple sherbets. People from all walks of life stop by these stalls to cool down.
Among them, laborers and transport workers find these roadside stalls a much-needed oasis. “After driving in this heat, taking a break with a glass of sherbet helps cool down the body,” says one of the workers enjoying a refreshing sip.
