The once-bustling Sugandha Beach Point in Cox’s Bazar now stands eerily quiet. The usual hum of tourists has faded, leaving behind a desolate shoreline where only the fishermen and fish traders remain at work. Many vendors who once sold crispy fried fish and crab have temporarily shut down due to a lack of customers. Yet, preparations for fish preservation continue undeterred.

With an increasing demand for ice to keep freshly caught fish in prime condition, traders have set up ice-crushing machines on the sandy shore. Large ice blocks are being crushed into smaller pieces and packed into fish baskets, ensuring the catch stays fresh for extended hours.

Under the scorching sun, tiny ice shards glisten as they scatter across the sand, creating a mesmerizing scene—where the play of ice and sunlight forms a hopeful spectacle, as if heralding the return of tourists.

The fish traders of Sugandha Beach patiently await the day when the shore will once again come alive with the footsteps of eager travelers.
