Md. Saifuddin Shaheen has officially assumed office as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Cox’s Bazar. Following the handover on Sunday (March 9), he expressed his commitment to discharging his duties with dedication and professionalism. He also sought cooperation from all stakeholders in maintaining law and order in the country’s prime tourist city.

Upon his arrival at Cox’s Bazar Airport, he was welcomed with floral greetings by the district police. Later, upon reaching the Officers’ Mess, he was honored with a Guard of Honor.

He exchanged greetings with officers, personnel, and civil staff at the SP’s office. Senior district police officials warmly received him before he formally took charge. A courtesy meeting was held in the conference room, where he discussed law enforcement and overall security concerns and provided key directives for maintaining order.

Md. Saifuddin Shaheen is a member of the 24th BCS (Police) batch. Over his career, he has served in various key positions in Cox’s Bazar, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Bhola, Shariatpur, the In-Service Training Center, Gazipur, the Special Branch (SB), and most recently, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
