In a heartfelt initiative to spread joy and solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan, YASID organized a special iftar event for underprivileged climate refugee children. The organization’s music school students participated in this annual gathering.

Most of these children, residing in Nazirartek and Samitipara, belong to families displaced from Maheshkhali and Kutubdia due to the impacts of climate change. Rising sea levels and natural disasters have forced them to abandon their ancestral homes and settle in new surroundings. For the past four years, YASID has been working to enhance their education, cultural development, and mental well-being. Through music education, the organization aims to foster creativity and social cohesion among these children.

The iftar event was a reflection of Ramadan’s spirit of warmth and compassion. The young participants shared a meal together, making the evening a moment of joy and unity. YASID’s dedicated volunteers played a crucial role in planning and executing the event, ensuring a memorable experience for the children.

Kaiser Hamid, Executive Director of YASID, and guests such as Md. Kawsar, development worker Md. Shafi, and Mahbuba Akter Sweety attended the program. Music school students and volunteer musicians were also present, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere.

Expressing their excitement, the children enjoyed the iftar, sharing smiles and laughter. With a commitment to standing by these young climate refugees, YASID aims to continue its social and humanitarian efforts, striving not just to provide music education but to build a safe and hopeful future for them.
