Bangladesh Coast Guard has provided free medical services and distributed essential medicines to impoverished and vulnerable residents of the country’s only coral island, St. Martin’s. The medical camp, organized under the supervision of BCGS Mansoor Ali of the Coast Guard East Zone, was held on Tuesday (March 25) from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Confirming the initiative, Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque stated that the campaign provided free medical consultations and necessary medicines to over a hundred underprivileged individuals, including children. A medical team led by Surgeon Lt. Adib Adnan conducted the healthcare services.

Since its inception, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been actively engaged in various social and humanitarian activities to support disadvantaged communities in coastal and riverine areas. As part of these efforts, they regularly organize free medical camps for low-income and underserved populations.

Residents of St. Martin’s welcomed the humanitarian initiative, emphasizing that such efforts are a significant relief for islanders, particularly those living in remote areas with limited access to healthcare services.
