Cox’s Bazar is gearing up to welcome a massive influx of tourists as the extended Eid holidays approach. From hotels, motels, and resorts to restaurants and Burmese product shops, businesses across the city are undergoing renovations and decorations. Many top-rated hotels have already reached full occupancy with bookings. Additionally, lifeguard services are making preparations to ensure the safety of beachgoers.
With a long holiday ahead, a surge of visitors is expected, prompting a flurry of last-minute preparations. Shops selling seashell souvenirs, pickles, and dried fish along the beach are experiencing increased activity as they prepare to cater to tourists.
Local business owners say they are fully prepared to welcome visitors, with final touches being made to their establishments. They anticipate brisk sales during Eid. Over 500 hotels, motels, and resorts remained largely vacant throughout Ramadan.
These establishments are now renovating and repainting to compensate for the lull. Meanwhile, hotel authorities confirm that many top-tier accommodations are fully booked for the holidays.
