At 12:25 PM on Friday, an earthquake was felt in Cox’s Bazar, Dhaka, and several other parts of Bangladesh.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the quake registered a magnitude of 7.3 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was in Myanmar’s Mandalay region, approximately 597 kilometers from Dhaka. A tremor of this magnitude is considered significant.

Meanwhile, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a 7.7-magnitude earthquake. Its epicenter was 16 kilometers north-northwest of Sagaing, Myanmar, and it originated at a depth of 10 kilometers.
