Cox’s Bazar’s festive shopping rush has taken over as Eid-ul-Fitr approaches. With Ramadan in its final days, markets across the city are witnessing an overwhelming crowd of shoppers. The town is buzzing with Eid shopping fever, from upscale shopping malls to small roadside stalls. Authorities have also implemented special measures to ensure security and monitor prices during this peak shopping period.

A tour of the city’s main shopping hubs—including Boro Bazar, Fazal Market, Ali Market, Firoza Shopping Mall, New Market, Super Market, Poura Super Market, Eden Garden, and Apon Tower—reveals a massive turnout of buyers. The rush intensifies in the afternoon and reaches its peak after iftar. To attract customers, businesses adorn their stores with eye-catching decorations, while eager shoppers browse for the perfect outfits.

According to shopkeepers, women’s fashion remains at the forefront of the Eid market, with three-piece suits being the top choice. Sarees are also a significant attraction this year, with high-quality varieties selling between Tk 10,000 and Tk 50,000.

For men, jeans, panjabis, T-shirts, short and long shirts, and two-piece sets are in high demand. Panjabis are priced between Tk 2,000 and Tk 3,000, pants range from Tk 1,000 to Tk 3,000, and fatuas are available for around Tk 1,000. Men’s clothing items are available within Tk 500 to Tk 5,000, while shoes range from Tk 1,000 to 8,000.

With just days left until Eid, the excitement in Cox’s Bazar’s shopping scene is only set to intensify.
