On a cool winter morning, the village market in Sonar Para of Ukhiya springs to life. Even before the mist has fully lifted, people from nearby villages gather — turning the marketplace into a vibrant hub of trade. Fresh betel nuts are neatly displayed in baskets, while others rush to sell just-caught river and sea fish. At one corner, farmers proudly showcase vegetables grown on their own fields — radish, cabbage, bottle gourd, eggplant, and more. Buyers bargain for their daily essentials, and sellers begin their day with hopes of a good market.
