Mohammad Shaheen, a 25-year-old speedboat driver from Sikdarpara of Maheshkhali Municipality, has become a trusted name among passengers traveling between Cox’s Bazar and Maheshkhali.
To support his family, Shaheen started operating speedboats two years ago, despite having difficult financial circumstances.
“I started operating the speedboat when the family’s financial situation became dire,” he remarked.
Passengers on the route have expressed high satisfaction with him due to his dedication and service.
He gets paid Tk250–Tk300 for each trip, or about Tk500 a day when two trips are completed.
